NUXE
Formed in 1957, NUXE changed many of the ideas about skincare that still hold true today. In the early part of the last century, skincare products surround synthetic pills and creams, which weren’t particularly effective, and at times could be harmful with their side effects. The founder of NUXE was a Parisian phytotherapist, who believed in the power of plants and their healing nature, practiced for centuries, shouldn’t be disregarded in the invention of these new synthetic products.
For around 30 years, NUXE focussed on products that combined plants together to form natural skincare products, in a way it was incredibly ahead of it’s time, but it only survived as a niche product. However, when the daughter of the founder - Aliza Jabes - took over the brand, and the young CEO managed to turned the small French laboratory into a worldwide cosmetological global brand in little over 10 years.
One of her earliest successes was the Huile Prodigieuse brand launched in 1992. A cream suitable for mother and baby so that the mother’s hands and body remain vitalised throughout the day. Today, Huile Prodigieuse is sold every 18 seconds somewhere within the world.
NUXE (a combination of the words Nature and Luxury) has been a huge critically and commercially successful company, that manages to retain the ethics launched over 50 years ago in Paris. Their range expanded with creams such as Reve de Miel (for dry skin), Creme Fraiche 24 hour moisturiser and Creme Nirvanesque cream that has been proven to remove wrinkles.
