Paul Smith Extreme for Men
Released in 2002, Paul Smith Extreme for Men is a fragrance suitable for those who don’t want to overpower anybody within 20 yards of you. The top notes of the perfume are quite strong, with a bergamot, nutmeg and cardamom infusion which cause a scent sensation when they hit the skin.
Whilst a nice smell, it’s not the sort of smell you want on you for long periods of time. Thankfully, the middle notes of incense, geranium and rosewood are not so overpowering. They create an aura of sweet smelling, yet not overpowering fragrance that you will get a pleasant reminder of various times over the next few hours. Yes, this fragrance lasts and lasts.
And lasts it does! The base notes of Sandalwood, Tonka and Modern Musk are the final base notes that linger and linger. However, it’s a sweet smell, that lasts for hours.
Overall, this perfume is great for men who don’t wear fragrances. It gives a nice smell, without being overpowering or particularly strong smelling. However, it’s not without it’s kick, the top and middle notes in particular have a great sweet smelling kick, and the base notes are mildly spicy.
Despite it’s name, it’s not particularly extreme. It is a great fragrance for those who don’t wear many fragrances, but want to create an impression when they do, or for those who do and want something a little more subtle for perfumes to wear on a day to day basis.

This is probably my favourite perfume, largely because I’m not the kind of guy who wears overly powerful fragrances. So this is always close to hand for that special occasion!
